xshash Minting

is a clean-looking site that is fast and useful for popular mints because it calls the contract directly. Like NFTbiker, it has a lot of useful functions, but as the name suggests, it is focused on fxhash.

Mint page

You can mint individual pieces of art directly from a list, with the latest mint at the top. Minting from xshash is a common technique people utilise during a popular drop, as it can often be faster than using fxhash.

For popular drops, you will want to optimise your settings to increase the chances of success. I recommend:

  1. adding the artist wallet (of the popular drop) to your 'following list', then when the time comes, filter by artist so that you remove all other distractions. Because the mint page is a live document, it can scroll and your project moves down the page. I have missed a mint because it moved on me as I went to hit 'mint' and chose the wrong project. Filtering fixes this.

  2. setting the custom gas to at least 0.2tez. Some projects will need more and it is up to you to decide how much you want to spend. Higher gas usually helps your chances, but not always.

  3. turn on notifications, so you are advised when the artist collection appears

  4. change your RPC node to either the , or a private node (this will be the fastest, but costs money).

  5. pay attention and be fast!

Reserve Lists

If you are minting a piece of art that has you on a reserve list, xshash will not use it. It will simply mint the token in the open market, leaving you to go to fxhash and mint your reserved piece in slow time. Of course, if there are more people on the reserve list than there are tokens, you should go straight to fxhash to mint them!

If the artist has been nice, they won't open up the reserve list at the same time as the general mint, meaning you won't have to choose between the two options. If this isn't the case (nice artists make mistakes...) then I recommend using your wallet connected to the reserve list to mint that asap and at the same time (as best you can), use a different wallet (on a different browser) to mint with xshash. You will need a different browser or the cookies will try and use the reserve list wallet.

Mint settings

On the mint page, you can:

  • filter by project number (user_id) or address (artist's wallet address)

  • filter to only see verified artists

  • filter to only see artists you are following

  • turn on/off minting notifications

  • set custom gas price

  • turn on/off custom gas from the main screen

The images below show these different functions.

Safety

If the artist has been verified by fxhash, there will be a blue checkmark next to their name. There has been a huge drop off in scammers trying to impersonate artists since this was created.

As xshash is a 3rd party site, caution must be taken. Do not assume what you see is correct; always check the link back to fxhash. Hopefully, the artist will have linked their page back to their Twitter account and website, even if they don't have a verification tick.

Anyone can report suspicious projects - from the fxhash project page - which then shows up on the xshash minting list as a yellow warning symbol, as shown below. There is a moderation system, in which all community members can participate.

Occasionally xshash will struggle from high usage and show the mint slightly later than Both are refreshing their feed every 30 seconds, which is how long a block takes on Tezos. At other times, xshash will be the better option; we are still early. Try them all, often.
